Ricolaaa
we’ve all been there. a totally normal conversation, when at the worst possible moment - a cough. you try to suppress it, but it escapes you.
“don’t worry, i’m not even [COUGHING FIT] sick” and just like you’re thrown in quarantine
“no honey, you look [throat-clearing cough] great” and just like that you’re sleeping on the couch
doesn’t matter that your message had good intentions, a cough can completely change the tone of your sentence. and that’s true across all languages.
“Eso se ve [ATAQUE DE TOS] delicioso” and “美味し[咳き込む]そう” are ways of saying something looks delicious, but some coughing gives the impression you might not be all that genuine. so how can we all avoid this miscommunication?
just take a Ricola
it’s a short and simple message: avoid the cough; take Ricola.
Ricola doesn’t need to introduce themselves. everyone knows when they’ve got a sore throat and can’t stop coughing to keep a bag of Ricola on standby. but that’s when you’re already miserable, and you don’t need to get to that point to start taking cough drops.
if you’ve got a cough, even a slight one, don’t wait until after it cuts off your sentence. Ricola is a preventative - for cough-caused miscommunication.
