GHOST Ice Cream
a gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. that’s one of the most common dietary targets for people looking to build muscle. seems simple enough, right?
Well, if the average American male weighs about 200 lbs, that’s about 200 grams of protein. that’s 33 eggs. or 80 chicken mcnuggets. or 4 Five Guys bacon cheeseburgers. that’s like 20 guys. it can be a bigger pain to hit your protein goals than to hit the gym. and now imagine having a nut allergy - say goodbye to 99% of protein bars. have fun eating chocolate-covered cardboard.

that’s one of the reason protein powders can be a great addition to the pantry. i personally always have a tub of Ghost’s Chips Ahoy flavor in mine and i don’t really plan on switching any time soon, it’s that good. but let me tell you - it was a long journey of trying all kinds of flavors from all kinds of brands - some of which were downright awful.
not Ghost though, they’re cool.
but walk into any GNC and you’ll see just how many options there are - and they all only come in large quantities. protein isn’t cheap. you find yourself in a loop of getting a months worth of potentially gag-worthy protein and forcing yourself to choke it down or trick your gym buddy into taking it.
and now as someone who has found a protein source they actually want to stick with, i start to think about more ways to consume it, and that’s where ice cream comes in. who doesn’t like ice cream? it’s one of the most versatile, customizable desserts, so good that even most lactose-intolerant people i’ve met eat it in spite of the consequences.
and what about ice cream shops? displays of colorful, diverse flavors ready to be scooped right at the counter. from classics like cookies and cream to wild new flavors like lemon cake batter, which is one i had recently that might just be a new favorite. and now let’s add in the fact before committing to your order you can sample the flavors to see which one really clicks with you. i think you see where i’m going with this.
popping up in active cities - especially ones known to get quite hot - Ghost Ice Cream stores will be conveniently located in bustling areas within walking distance of popular weightlifting gyms.
within these stores will there not only be a variety of flavors to sample and choose from, but larger tubs of signature flavors - classics likely to resonate with people, like Cookies & Cream - will be available for purchase. merchandise featuring the ice cream logo will also be available in-stores.
now i know what you’re thinking - we can’t open up shops everywhere. and it’s true, space is limited. of course ice cream and merchandise can be sold online for those not fortunate enough to be in the big cities Ghost would target, but that’s just not as fun. don’t worry though, i thought about that.
it just makes sense to also make an ice cream truck. so long as the target gym has a parking lot, Ghost can meet their audience right when they’re leaving the gym. great if the gym-goers are just a bit too exhausted to walk to the shop. or if it feels just too hot to make the trip. instead they can get their protein treat between the gym and their car. i don’t know abut you, but i’d definitely want to check it out.
