that’s a bit of an oversimplification, but it’s based on some pretty interesting science. a squirrel’s terminal velocity - the fastest speed it can reach in free fall - is so low that it can theoretically survive a a fall from any height without serious injury. i don’t know about you, but i find that fascinating.
and as i went down the rabbit hole of squirrel physics and physiology i started to just think about squirrels in general, those crazy little things. i’ve got countless memories of staring out the window in class watching a pair chase each other like mad men. how on my college campus they’d wind up so close to you only to dart away at lightning speed if it wanted. and as i stopped researching to continue daydreaming, a simple thought popped into my mind, so simple, so clear, so ridiculous….
Squirrel Shoes.
it sounds silly…because it is. but that shouldn’t be a reason to write it off. a squirrel might not be as intimidating as say, a puma, just picking a totally random animal, but running shoes aren’t meant for intimidation. no, this is a shoe not just for speed, but reflex, the ability to quickly pivot, jump, roll, move in any direction without losing footing. that’s what these shoes are.
