jae cake

i’ve heard countless times you gotta take a big swing to get the attention of an agency. so imagine you’re one of the big shots at an agency, and one day you walk in and there’s a box that says “eat me” and inside is a cake with a cartoon drawing of someone’s face. and if/when you finish eating it/him, there’s a message, “hey, i’m jae. nice to meet you” and a QR code. would you scan it? i would.

Heinz “freestyle”

so i had this idea for a “Heinz Freestyle” machine, like the Coca-Cola Freestyle soda fountains that already exist. Heinz has a lot of different sauce options already, some of which are already mixed-versions of their current selections (Mayochup, for example). and when i made the connection to these Freestyle machines, it was one of those things that just seemed so ridiculous that people would absolutely want to check out just because of that. i imagined a one-time activation, where people would be invited to check it out and it would be expected to go viral. not meant to be something rolled-out across the country, just imagine how hard it would be to clean.

Why doesn’t this have it’s own page?

when i was working on this, i thought it was a very original idea that no one would ever have considered because it’s so ridiculous, and i had plenty of others tell me it was pretty crazy; dumb, even. then, after doing all the work, going through countless image generation prompts, copy lines, all the mockups, i get sent this

okay so i guess i’m just on the same wavelength as the mad scientists over at Heinz.
